The Process

This is a listening practice.

We listen for what comes up and allow it to flow out.

Heart to pen to paper.

Using a unique freewriting technique called Wild Writing (which I learned from Laurie Wagner), members learn to write from the gut, bypassing the critical mind. One of the ways we do this is by writing in short, timed intervals. We also write fast, pen never leaving the paper.

I read a short poem, suggest some jump-off lines and then we write for 5-15 minutes. We do this a total of 2-3 times each session. After each write, we take turns reading aloud.

No feedback is given; just gratitude.
