Write It Out Groups
A uniquely powerful online practice in which we freewrite together for minutes at a time, then bravely read our writing out loud. No judgement. No feedback. Just gratitude.
Do you consider yourself a writer at heart but you don’t actually write much?
Or maybe you journal and make lists because writing helps you think.
Perhaps you have ideas, opinions, jokes, stories, lessons within you. You wish you could share them.
Are you held back by the feeling that you and/or your writing is not “good” enough?
Are you someone who has trouble getting started with writing..or finishing what you start?
Maybe you want help getting into a regular writing routine.
Or maybe in a world full of noise and distraction, you wish to be able to hear your own voice.
If any of these are true for you,
you’re in the right place.

Hello and welcome, I’m so glad you’re here.
I’ve had the privilege of building relationships with patients for over 15 years.
While sharing inner thoughts and feelings can be uncomfortable, it can also be healing when done in a respectful, nonjudgemental space.
WriteItOutGroups are designed for individuals and communities seeking such spaces. Group members learn to use writing as a means of accessing their authentic voices, which can be transformative.
Members can experience an increased sense of clarity, purpose, creativity, drive, energy, connection, confidence, and wellbeing.
It wasn’t long after I began writing this way several years ago that I realized this is a practice I want to share with others.
Please check out the FAQ page and if you are tempted to sign up, I encourage you to follow that intuition and fill out an interest form.
The more honest and diverse voices we have in a group, the richer the experience is for everyone.
Gratefully,
Suki
What will happen when you have the space to hear what’s inside and the courage to write it out?
What will happen when you invest less in how others see you and more in how you see yourself?
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The Practice:
I’ll read a short poem and offer jump-off lines to move you into writing.
You’ll write fast for 5-15 minutes (I’ll set a timer), letting whatever comes to you spill out onto paper, without stopping to think or edit.
One by one, each group member will bravely read aloud what they wrote. The rest of the group listens without judgement or feedback. JUST GRATITUDE.
Repeat steps 1-3 a few times each session.
*Groups are small and intimate, with no more than 9 writers in each group.
The Intention:
The intention is not to write something that will be perceived as “good.”
The intention is to learn to hear an inner voice. By transcribing that voice without judging or editing it, we end up uncovering honest, unfiltered nuggets of our own stories, insights, ideas, memories, and wisdom.
Bearing witness to these hidden treasures is where the unique power of this practice lies.
